Making Roti: The best and most memorable thing in Thailand? For me, it is the people, such as this young Muslim woman in Takua Pa, who is making roti, fried bread. Thailand has the nickname "The Land of Smiles" and, amazingly enough, it still often lives up to that name. After we leave Kuraburi we stop at this local restaurant to sample delicious roti and say hello to the family who runs the restaurant and who, each year, welcome us as if we were returning family.
