The owners are extremely friendly, will answer all of your questions, especially if you are new to Asian cooking, they will help and guide you in the right direction for what ever it is you are trying to cook. They are very well stocked and have all the very good brands at at reasonable price, (this is the only store I go to). The only thing bad i can say about this place, they only have frozen fish and meat products but for everything else you need, they have it. The produce is awesome as well. On a recent trip to the wine country I stumbled across a Thai market in Santa Rosa that stocks Golden Boy fish sauce plus many other "favorite brands" of yours. It's a nicely stocked market and the store owner told me they have fresh Thai produce every Friday. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. (A student of Kasma's, March 2010)
I found a GREAT market that has many of Kasma's preferred brands (Mae Ploy, Golden Boy, etc). It's a very clean, well-organized market with a wide variety of merchandise and produce. I found 3 different varieties of Thai basil there. The owner (Jackie) is the former proprietor of Lotus Thai Restaurant in Healdsburg. She operated the restaurant for 12 years on Healdsburg Square until it closed a few years ago. (A student of Kasma's, June 2010) |
