Tom Kati Pak Wan Ban: On the menu under Soft Boiled Coconut Milk (Creamy Soup Southern Thai Style). Described as: "(Pak wan ban is local tree.) Soft boiled pak wan ban and coconut milk with shrimp." Kasma would describe as Pak Wan Cooked in Coconut Milk with Shrimp (Dtom Gkati Pak Wahn). This is an excellent dish to get to balance out another particularly spicy dish – the coconut milk helps to calm the taste buds.
Note: These are all dishes that Kasma orders at Ruen Mai Restaurant in Krabi. The groups eat there for 4 or 5 meals during two of her small-group trips to Thailand, Trip A & Trip C.
