We once had a trip member who was frustrated because there were so many different Buddha images. I find it comforting. My understanding is that the Buddha is something that is found within each one of us – if we look for the Buddha outside of ourself we are sure to be disappointed. The large number of Buddha images seem to reinforce this understanding – in a temple there is bound to be one that speaks to each person.
