Chaiya Buddha – Close-up
I like that photography can let us focus in on details to let us see things in a different way. This is Kasma’s picture of a detail on a Buddha statue at Wat Phra Boram That in Chaiya, Thailand. You can see a slightly more expansive detail in Michael’s photo in an earlier Wednesday Photo blog:
Another Chaiya Buddha.
The Wednesday Photo is a new picture each week highlighting something of interest in Thailand. Click on the picture to see a larger version.
I want to do at least a week when I go to live in Thailand for 6 months a year in the next couple of years – probably in Chiang Mai – quite scared at the prospect at living virtously for at least week and battling with my restless self-mind but I know in my heart it will be worth it. I make quite a few videos which I find helps be me to be closer to Buddha nature. They’re at http://www.youtube.com/thebuddhasface
Kind regards

A lovely photo Michael and many thanks for sharing- they say Buddha images should show wisdom and compassion and this certainly does. Not been to That Chaiya yet but hope to one day soon.
Khorp khun mahk khrap !
Kind regards
Ian
The temple at Chaiya is really lovely. If you’re down that way, do visit Suan Mokkh. I did a 10-day meditation retreat back in 1992 and see they are still doing them: http://www.suanmokkh-idh.org/.
